Okay, I need parenting advice. Kyra goes to preschool. And this month they have been learning all of their shapes. So each day, a shape is highlighted, and the kids are encouraged to go home and find something that is the shape for the next day. Well it was square day, and so she took an empty puzzle box. Well, when she got home, I found a couple toy cars inside the box. I asked her about it and she said it was just an accident (I talked to the teacher, and she said that she even helped Kyra put the cars in the box, and she just forgot to take them out). Kyra said that she wanted to keep the cars, and my thought was that this would be a good opportunity to teach a life lesson, and explained that when we take something, and its not ours, and we don't give it back, its stealing. So we decided that the next day she would take the cars back, and tell Mrs. Jo-Anne sorry. I thought it was the end of the story....is it ever the end of the story?!?!
Well I was putting Kyra's back pack away today, and she HAS 4 MAGNIFIYING GLASSES INSIDE. I asked her, "Kyra why did you steal these from Mrs. Jo-Anne's...we talked about this? She replies back "I stole them, so I can give them back and say sorry." So now what do I do??? 1)Stress that it is still stealing, and have her give them back and say sorry (because that obviously worked or so well last time).
2)Have her apoligize and take away a priviledge. (Even though I think she knows what she did was wrong, she obviously was trying to be naughty.
3) I just return them, we don't make a big deal at all about returning them, and just cross our fingers it doesn't happen again, and she just doing it to get attention???
Any thoughts??? Thanks in advance.

Just call me Lady Macbeth...
I think it is fair to say that not only do I hate my carpet, I'm seriosly starting to despise it! Yes, those are strong words for a simple thing that covers the floor, but the words are not unjustified. We have lived in our house for 4 and 1/2 years. When we purchased our home, we were young, and frankly naive about what upgrades we should have done to our home. The benefit vs. the additional money. I WILL NEVER BUILD ANOTHER HOME, WITHOUT UPGRADING THE CARPET! The problem is, that we have spots. Of course, that is too be expected with 2 dogs, and 2 kids (and between you and me...a husband) But the spot won't go away! Hence, the title of the post. I can scrub those stinkin' spots, pretreat them, soak them, try every cleaner under the sun, use my steamer to clean them, and even get them professionally cleaned, and THE SPOTS ARE STILL THERE. They are sly little devils, just pretending to disappear, but really they are waiting. Waiting for you to feel confident that your carpet is nice and clean (about 3-4 days) and then they pop up again, like daisies! I can clean my house from top to bottom, but then still feel like its not clean because of that dang carpet. So since we won't be getting new carpet for a million years, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET RID OF THE SPOTS, PERMANETLY, BEFORE I GO CRAZY???

It sounds fun!
My friend Angela had this challenge posted on her blog, and I thought it would be fun to participate! The first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me.It will be my choice what I send to you.But...there is a catch...ready?
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (But I hope you do!)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year!
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
5-The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog! (then come here and post, that you put it on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a homemade gift by me! Anyone up to the challenge?

Why you shouldn't take men shopping..
My sister emailed me this, and I just thought it was too funny, and too true!
After Mr. and Mrs. Fenton retired, Mrs. Fenton insisted her husband accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart.Unfortunately, Mr. Fenton was like most men--he found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunately, Mrs. Fenton was like most women--she loved to browse. One day Mrs. Fenton received the following letter from her local Wal-Mart.
Dear Mrs. Fenton,Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may be forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Fenton are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.
1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.
2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.
3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.
4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, "Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away."
5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.
6. September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.
7. September 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.
8. September 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"
9. October 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.
10. November 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.
11. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the " Mission Impossible" theme.
12. December 6: In the auto department, he practiced his "Madonna look" by using different sizes of funnels.
13. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"
14. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!"And last, but not least .
15. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, "Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!"
Regards,Wal-Mart

The down low on the coupon deal-eo
A lot of people have asked how I use my coupons...so here is my limited knowledge on how coupons work.
In the Sunday paper will be coupon inserts, put out by RedPlum or Smart Source. You can get coupons online, but you can usually only print out a couple, and they usually only print 1 coupon per a page, and then put ads or other stuff on the page. So it takes quite a bit of ink and paper...for me its not worth it.
So here is how you get the savings. For instance, lets say that there is a coupon that says "Save .75 cents on any size Jif Peanut Butter". Well that great, and it will save a little bit but, the way you get things free or almost free is this: You need to find out if your local grocery store double coupons. Our local fry's always doubles, and at the end of last year even quadrupled. The only catch is that they will only double up to $1.00, never higher. So then I save my coupon until Jif Peanut Butter is on sale. Lets say for $1.25, and I give them my .75 cent coupon that is then doubled up to a dollar, and I get a jar of peanut butter for .25 cents. So use a coupon, when there is a sale going on, and that is where the most savings happen. Now a couple little side notes...
1. You will have to save and organize your coupons for a couple months to get any real savings, because generally the coupons in the current sunday paper don't relate to any sales going on that current week. Periodically they do, but not usually. So if you feel like you have the time and patience to organize all of your coupons, GREAT! I didn't, so I joined a coupon club that does all of the organizing for me, and they just tell me which coupons to clip, but it is about $15 a month. I feel like I always make that $15 and the cost of the newspaper up each month, but it just depends on you and your family.
2.The reason I started cutting coupons is because I felt it was the only way that I would accomplish getting a 3 month supply. And, I do that by getting 6 Sunday papers. Yes, 6! The reason is that you can only get 1 item for each coupon. So for me, if I can get a package of toliet paper for free, I want to be able to get 6 packages of toliet paper for free, so I can put them in my 3 month supply, and I won't have to purchase toliet paper at full price. I have enough that I can wait until they go on sale again. If I only purchased 1 sunday paper, then I would only be have 1 coupon, and would only be able to get 1 package of toliet paper for free. So I get six, for my size family, and how much of a supply I want to have on hand. So if its only you, your husband and a newborn, you may only need 2 or 3 newspapers.
So hopefully that all made sense, and if you have any questions, let me know!

Did I do it right?
If you live in Tucson, there are some really great sales at the grocery stores this week, especially if you use coupons. Here is everything I got at Safeway and Fry's, for around $60 (everything is the cost with coupons). At safeway:
11 tubes of Toothpaste for free
12 bottles of shampoo and conditioner; .50 cents each
12 boxes of rice a roni for .75 cents
4 boxes of frosted flakes for $1.13 each
Natures Own bread for .50 cents each.
Then at fry's:
6 dial hand soap pumps for .18 cents each
Pie crusts were $1.00 each
The butter was $1.88 each, without coupons, which lately I've been paying over $2..ugh.
The milk is a FANTASTIC $1.57 without coupons, but with a limit of 2
They also have the blueberries and blackberries for a $1 a container. The blackberries are so good!
The Chef Boyardee was .35 cents a can..not the best stuff in the world, but if I'm in a bind for a quick lunch for the kiddos it would work.
So if you get a chance, check out somo of the sales going on.

My questions is.....how do you freeze bread??? I bought 6 loaves, because they are the really good $3.50 a loaf type bread, for only .50 cents, but then I got them home, and was like holy snot, I have no idea how to keep bread. So what I ended up doing is taking them out of their original bags, putting them inside a freezer ziplock bag, with a paper towel (to suck out the moisture), then sucked out the air with a straw and double bagged it. Is that how you do it??? It there a less time consuming way that still would give a good loaf of bread once thawed? And then how do you thaw it...just leave it on the counter over night? Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom!

Pity Party
Here is my disclamier: I'm going to have a good old fashion pity party for a few minutes. I normally don't believe in indulging such feelings, but I just need to feel sorry for my self...just for a second (because heavens know there are people in worse shape than me, and don't complain). So please feel free to click away to happier blog lands.
Okay, here it goes. I started not feeling to well, over two weeks ago. It is a strange mix between feeling nausous, dull constant pain just below my ribcage on the right side, and then stabbing pain throughout my back. It took me a week to suck it up and go to the doctor because for some reason I feel like I'm bothering them by going in for such a silly problem. Well I finally go. She says that the first step is an ultrasound. Okay, that's just fine, but I can't schedule my ultrasound for two days. Okay, that just fine. Then it takes them a full day to give the ultrasound results to my doctor (even though they are in the same building!) Then it takes a day for my doctor to call me and tell me that the ultrasound was inconclusive, and that I need a CT scan. Well then it takes 2 day for the hospital to call and setup the appt., and the soonest they can schedule me is a week later (this wed). Then they said that it usually takes 2 days to get the results back to the doctor...which would be friday, so then the doctor probably won't call me until Monday, and then who knows how long it will take for them to schedule surgery, or for them to tell me that the CT was inconclusive. So what are we looking at 3 weeks...a month. Seriously, do these people not think that I have a life, a life that I prefer wouldn't include nausea and pain. A life that includes me not losing my patience, so quickly, with everyone, especially with my kids, just because I'm tired, because I'm having trouble sleeping at night. It really bothers me when I call and leave a message, asking what my test results are, and it takes 8 hours for them to call back. It really bothers me that it takes so long to schedule every little appointment. It really....just makes me sad. Makes me want to yell, hey, this is important to me, why are you acting like its not important to you (You being the health care professionals). I just want to feel good again.
Okay, I'm done with my pity party. Now the other half, the half that make me feel bad that I had a little cry fest. I am grateful for a husband who really has taken over everything around the house, including running to two grocery stores tonight, to check if they, by chance, still had 3-D glasses in stock, so I could watch Chuck.. then coming home and making cookies with the kiddos, them getting the kids dressed and ready for bed, and then putting them both to sleep, and then fixing the washing machine, and then, later, me realizing that he stopped taping his Suns game, so that he could tape one of my silly shows. I know that I am very blessed. I know that I have a great guy. I know that my kiddos are the two of the best, and they really are easy kids. I know that, if I did need help, a could call some friends. I know that everything will be resolved soon, I just need to be patient. I know, but sometime just for a second, knowing doesn't make it any easier, and we all just may need a little pity party. Thanks for indulging me.
