I really, really hate car mechanics!

So today I walked out and noticed that my drivers side window on the van was gone. I totally thought the car had been broken into. There was nothing stolen, and then was NO glass, anywhere. Well after closer examination, I realized that the window was simply in the door. That's weird. So I tried to roll it back up, and could hear the motor trying to roll the window up, but it didn't work. So I tried to call a local glass repair company and was told they don't do that type of manual labor. So we had to take it to a mechanic. Grrrr...well it turns out that the window is moved up and down by something similar to a pully system, and the belt, in that system snapped. Well $466 later...yes you read that right...$466 DOLLARS later, we will have a new window. We asked if they could just push the window up, and we can fix it when we can afford it. No because the belt that holds it in the up position is the one that snapped. And its not like we can just go without a drivers side window. And I can't just drop Karl off at work until we an afford it because I can't drive stick. Grrr....I swear every car mechanics personal mission in life is to revive the entire worlds economy, based on me paying out the nose for a stupid car repairs!

sara we have fixed (my husband) car windows numerous times by ourselves and it only costs us less than 50$...I don't know if he could have fixed your window but it would have been worth looking at. Sorry you had to pay so much- I hate that too. But just letting you know- I know someone who can fix windows-- in the future :)

Oh Sara I'm so sorry.
That really hurts.
They're great when they're working but bad news when they're not.

Hi - this is Cami Dixon. I let Daniel know a long time ago that you had found our blog. He took a look at yours, but I don't think he knows how to leave a comment - not much of a blogger! :) Anyway, he was excited to hear from you!

Sara - this just happened to us on our Honda Odyssey! I went outside and the window was just down and wouldn't come up. We didn't pay that much though - ugh! So sorry to hear about that.
