I'll be here all week...

Kyra is our little comedian. She loves to tell jokes. So Grandma Adams sent her a joke book, which she loves to read, all the time. So here is a video of Kyra reading her book. I warn you, its a little long, but I thought Grandma and Grandpa would enjoy it.

Lessons from a 2 year old

Lately (okay, off an on, for a couple months) Kyra has been waking up at around 1 or 2 every night, and coming to snuggle in bed with us. We put her back in bed, and then 20 minutes later she does it again, throughout the whole night. This goes on until we are so exhausted that we don't even realize she has come back into our room. THen in the morning, she is still so tired, and GROUCHY because she hasn't slept well. We tried locking her door, but she then sits by it and cries and cries, and will eventually fall asleep. But, the downside is that at bedtime the next night instead of happily laying down, she screams and screams. So anyway...last night she came in at 2, Karl put her back to bed. She came in at 2:20, Karl put her back to bed again. She came in at 3. I put her back in bed, give her her cinderella doll and say nite nite. She says "Mommy, will you say a prayer with me to ask Heavenly Father to help me fall asleep". So we said a prayer together and she slept the rest of the night! Lessons from a 2 year old.

Renaissance Festival

A couple weeks ago Karl's parents came for a visit, and we went to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Kyra is all about the Disney Princess now, so Grandma bought her this beautiful cloak for dress up. Kyra loves it! Everything is disney princesses now. She is trying to convince me that Kyle really wants a princess cake for his birthday. (Now where was this little girl, when I had to make her a Cars cake for her 2nd birthday?) My uncle is getting married in June, in Yuma, about 2 hours away from San Diego. So we were going to take another couple of days off, and go to SeaWorld. We had a brochure that advertised for both SeaWorld and Disneyland. Kyra asked if she could look at the brochure. As she is looking though it I ask "Aren't you excited that we are going to SeaWorld?" She very happily said "Cinderella's at SeaWorld (because there was a picture of Cinderella in the brochure). I said "No baby, Shamu is at SeaWorld". Even more excited she says "Snow White is at SeaWorld". I reply "Nope, there are penguins at SeaWorld". She says "The princess castle is at Sea World!" I reply "Nope, but there are dophins at SeaWorld". In the most depressed little voice she replies "Oh dophins (long pause)....yea." She cracks us up!

Graduation

This past week was graduation of the Gymnastics/Play class that Kyle and Kyra have been taking through Parks and Recreation. They both absolutely loved it. Kyra especially seemed to like the gymnastics aspect of the class. It worked out pretty well. I would take Kyra to her class, while my parents watched Kyle. Then I would take Kyle to his class, while my parents played with Kyra. It was alot of fun!

Bottomless Pit!

When Kyra was a baby, there would be days were she would only eat a bite or two, and she was full. Even now, she really eats like a bird. That is not the case with Kyle. He eats ALL the time, and EVERYTHING. We have NOT found a single food that Kyle won't eat. He has never voluntarily stopped eating. We have always had to cut him off. I kid you not, he has even tried to eat the wall, the dog, and the couch. We love our little guy so much...but I am a little worried about that appetite when he is a teenager. Well we were at a restaurant the other day, and he knew there was food at other tables, just not our yet. So in my attempt to distract him from the lack of food, I let him play with the lemon from my water. NOW...I want to point out, that he doesn't HAVE to eat it. He could just put it down. But this is what came of it. By the end, he thought it was the funniest game ever. He would take a bite, shiver, and then giggle and giggle.
