Dr. Suess's Birthday and Report Cards

Today Kyra's class celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday day. They read their favorite books, made "Cat in the Hat" hats, and watched Horton hears a Who. She was shocked to find out that Dr. Suess wasn't the authors real name and is currently contemplating her "writing name."

Yesterday she brought home her 2nd trimester report card. She received straight A's (which means "Exceeds standards") and even earned two "A+"s in Penmanship and Reading! Her teacher also included a little note with the report card. Here is a little tidbit of that note "Kyra is a very perceptive independent learner. I am entertained and intriged by her sense of humor on a daily basis."

I am so gratful for a teacher that seems to have gotten to know Kyra, not only as a student but as an individual and has really embraced Kyra and her sweet quirky personality!
