Halloween 2009!

Halloween was SOOO much fun this year. Both kids loved it. They loved picking out their costumes and getting ready, decorating, singing halloween songs (Thanks Jo-Anne for teaching them some:)..EVERYTHING about it!! For our outside decorations I hung up a spider egg sac, but after some crazy wind I think it may of lost some of its "spookyness", since yesterday Kyra told me, as I was trying to fix some of the webs "Don't worry mom, its still looks cute."
I was so happy that Halloween was on a Saturday this year so that Karl could still do all of the activities with us, including Trick or Treating. This morning, the kiddos and I let Karl sleep in, while we made him a surprise Halloween breakfast of "Spooky Cinnamon Rolls". Basically they are regular cinnamon rolls with orange and purple frosting. They were a big hit! I LOVE food coloring!
After breakfast we carved our pumpkins. The kiddos weren't so amused by the idea of cleaning out the pumpkin guts. Kyra did at least stick her hands in a couple times...Kyle refused, something about a snake being inside (but that's a different story). We did a Minnie Mouse and Goofy pumpkin.
After breakfast and pumpkins we headed to the zoo. The weather was perfect, and apparently no one else goes to the zoo Halloween morning! So the kids pretty much had free run, which was great! For costumes this year Kyle wanted to be Lightening McQueen, and Kyra surprised us by wanting to being a witch!
This evening we went to a friends house for dinner before heading out trick or treating. It was SOOO good, with smoked ribs, and all the trimmings. Karl was one happy camper!! Here is Kyle with his best buddy, Eli! These two are so funny together!

Here is Kyra and Bailee, the inseprable duo! Here is a picture of all the kiddos! It was such a fun night! The kiddos did great trick or treating, other than Kyle trying to walk into people's houses so he could watch TV, trying to negotiate which piece of candy they give him, or if they took to long giving him the candy, taking matters into his own hands...otherwise the kiddos were fantastic! Happy Halloween!

How cute! We must have had the same idea last night, we were blogging on halloween (that's cuz there was NOTHING on TV).

They are just too cute. Bailey & MacKenzie are here with me while I checked out your blog. They missed out this year due to sickness so they were living vicariously through your kids. They loved looking at the costumes.
