Finding out your allergic to something...the hard way!

Yesterday morning, the kiddos and I went outside to play. Kyra and I were in the garden together, when I noticed some ants, so I had her leave the garden and go play with Kyle in the sandbox. Well it was too late. By the time we came inside she had a couple bug bites, but nothing too bad. THIS MORNING, her legs looked like this!!!
Both ankles are swollen a huge amount!
Both inner knees have huge, HARD bug bite marks. And then there is this one. Which is so bad! It is blistered around the entire area, with pus ozing out.

So of course I called the doctors office immediately. I had to leave a message, but they called back about 20 minutes later, and said they could squeeze us in this morning. The doctor said it was a servere allergic reaction, probably to ants or mosquitoes. I asked specifically if it could be a spider bite, and she said no. So thats good at least. I'm guessing its the ants, because I didn't see any mosquitos. So now she is on steroids and large doses of Benydrl (which I was hoping would make her tired...HAHAHA). The biggest concern now is the chance that the open blisters get infected. So we have to really watch for the next couple days to make sure that doesn't happen. We also have to bathe her in bug spray before she goes outside from now on. The doctor said to do 25% deet. That seemed a little high to me..so we are starting at 7% and hoping. We are already bathing her in sunscreen....I guess its not a huge deal to add bug spray on top. I have to keep reminding her not to scratch at the spots. So this morning, I walk in and she has her hand inside a T-shirt, and she is using the T-shirt to scratch at the bites. She quickly pointed out that HER HAND wasn't scratching the spot, it was the T-shirt. Poor baby girl!!

just like Briana bites used to look but she never blistered. Hope she recovers soon, it's so hard not to itch.

Oh wow, that's awful. I hope things go well and she heals fast, as children do, as well as not being bit again.
Poor thing.
