When I Return....

Last Sunday Karl Grandpa, Warren Howard Adams passed away. We traveled to Los Alamos, in Northern New Mexico, for the funeral. Although it was a sad occassion, it was nice to see family, some that I have never met. The funeral service was beautiful. Grandpa was a prisoner of war in Germany, during WW2, and was awarded the purple heart. He was given a military burial, with his fellow commrades playing taps on a bugel, and a military gun salute. His wife was given an American flag. It was very touching.
At the funeral the family sang a song "When I Return". I thought the words were really nice and wanted to share them.

In the quiet misty morning, when the moon has gone to bed. When the sparrows stop thier singing and the sky is clear and red. When the summer's ceased it gleaming. When the corn is past its prime. When the journey's lost its meaning, I'll be home-ward bound in time. Christ, My one Lord and Master, Guide each step of my way. There shall be no greener pasture when I return to You one day. As You find its me your missing, as you wait for my return, To your voice I will be listening; in the road I'll stop and turn. Then the wind wills et me racing as my journey nears its end, and the path I'll be retracing when I'm homeward bound again. Christ my one Lord and Master, Guide each step of the my way. There shall be no greener pasture when I return to You one day. In the quiet misty morning, when the moon has goon to bed. When the sparrows stop their singing, I'll be homeward bound again.

Sorry about the loss. We had a grandpa pass away about a month ago that was also in WW2. My grandpa was also a POW in Germany. It is great to know that our families can be together forever:)

I am sad to hear about Grandpa Adams, but I know that he is where he is he is supposed to be, and will continue his work there. I am greatful that we have our faith to provide us that peaceful feeling. I will always remember him fading in and out of the conversation in the room! He was a good man.
