Pumpkin Patch

We went to Apple Annie's this year, to pick out some good lookin' pumpkins. Due to Karl work schedule we actually went on a Friday morning, which turned out great because there really weren't very many people there. The big buckets of corn kernals is always a big hit!We tried the intermediate level corn maze again. (Last year, after about 1/2 hour we came out of the maze through the entrance). Kyle seemed to like the corn maze but was really concerned about all the corn kernals on the ground, and kept trying to stop and pick them all up...so it took a little while to get through it....But this year we made it out...through the EXIT!! Here are Kyra and her friend Bailee giving us some thumbs ups. Then it was pumpkin pickin' time.

It was so much fun, and the kiddos loved it!

Difference Between Boys and Girls

This morning, for breakfast Kyra and I were making french toast, bacon, yogurt and fruit. Kyra requested "Mermaid" French Toast, which basically is adding a couple drops of pink food coloring to the egg mixture. So once we sit down, Kyra tells Kyle that we are eating "Mermaid French Toast". Kyle gives a significant amount of Ooooos and Ahhhhs, then picks up a piece of bacon, and excitedly yells "Mermaid Meat!!!" Takes a bite and announces "Mmmm...Yummy!"

Kyra turned 4 a couple of weeks ago!! She walked into our room, the morning of her birthday. I said "Happy Birthday Moo Moo!" She replied "Am I four today?" "Yes!", I say. Kyra responds "Oh Boy!! I can't wait until I'm 5!" Oh well....
At breakfast Kyra was surprised, by Kyle (with help from Daddy) with Tinkerbell birthday ballons. She loved them! I also made her favorite breakfast of homemade waffles, with syrup, strawberries and whip cream on top!

Then she got to celebrate her birthday at preschool with Princess cupcakes. (I forgot to take a picture :( When Daddy got home from work she opened her presents from us...board games, books on cd (SHE LOVES!), a CD player, a quilt from Aunt Pam (LOVES!), and a playhouse from Grandpa and Grandma (LOVES!).

This year instead of a regular party, Kyra wanted to have a sleepover with her two best buddies, Bailee and Bailey!

Here they are setting up the tent in the backyard. I love that Bailee, at the end isn't even holding the pole...so cute!
The girls watched a movie and ate pizza in the tent, then came in for games and playdough! But of course, no game playing/playdough molding is complete without princess gowns!
Then the girls wanted to watch Tinkerbell in the tent, and enjoy popcorn and Capri Suns.

After about 45 minutes, the girls decided that they wanted to sleep in the tent, but INSIDE the house. So Karl moved all the beds, and the tent to the front room, while the girls and I made smores! (Seriously between pizza, lemonade, popcorn, and smores...I'm really surprised no one threw up!)
They finished the rest of Tinkerbell inside the house, got ready for bed, read a couple stories, and everyone was out by 9:30. They did wake up by about 6 the next morning! We made French toast for breakfast, then it was off to become princesses again. I made each girl a little purse filled with goodies, which they played with until their Moms came around 10. The girls were FANTASTIC...so well behaved...all of them played so well together....they slept great. It was so much fun!
Then that afternoon, after a much needed nap Grandma and Grandpa G. came to celebrate with us, and attend Kyra's ballet recital the next day. More of that to come!

Baby #3 is a.....

BOY!!! There is no doubt about that this one is a boy! Our OB has a huge flat screen attached to the sonagram machine. It worked out so well, since we brought the kiddos with us, they could really see the different parts of the baby! Well, we all know that Kyra desperatly wanted a little sister...desperately. So when the doctor announced that it was a boy, Kyra started to cry, and tried to explain to the doctor how much she wanted a sister, not another brother. While the doctor was printing out the pictures for us to take home, Kyra contined to cry. Then the doctor asked if she wanted her very own picture of her baby brother. She very happily agreed to this, and requested the picture of the baby's feet and toes. As soon as she left the room, she started to cry again. I told her that now that she has accepted the sonagram picture of the baby, then she was accepting the fact that is was a boy. She didn't buy that. Well on my way out I had to stop to make my next appt, and the receptionist saw her picture and asked if she was having a baby brother or a baby sister. She in her most pathetic voice said "I'm having another baby brother. I can't handle another brother. They will DRIIIIVE me crazy!!" So for the next hour or so it was off and on fake crying. I was trying to convince Kyra that is was going to be okay, and said that our baby will be just like baby Carson (a friends baby). She then said "Ohhhh, he is soo cute. I've ALWAYS wanted a baby brother." I give up!
Karl is estatic..I think he is envisioning his own basketball team. Kyle, I think...now has accepted the fact that it is not an anteater. I have now guessed wrong on all 3 kids! I was really nervous about this ultrasound. I think I was just oblivious about what could go wrong with the first two kiddos, and now that I know what could happen, I was so paranoid about this ultrasound. But everything looks perfect! I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the fact of another Kyle running around!

If Kyle is ever at your house....

If Kyle is ever at your house, and says he is thirsty, he may ask for this.....

I swear he is actually saying this....

A kool-aid "SQUEEZER"!
