Happy 1st Birthday!

Our little boy is 1! I can't believe it. On Sunday we had a little family dinner, just us and both sets of grandparents were able to come and celebrate with us. We had Kyle favorite, spagetti and corn on the cob. We opened presents that night. Kyra was SO excited to "help" Kyle open his presents. The grandparents even bought a couple small items for her to open, just so she wouldn't feel left out. Kyle loves dogs! So he was thrilled with the variety!

Kyra "helping".
The big present for Grandma and Grandpa Adams was a swingset! So the guys went out at midnight and set it up. In order to get Kyra to go to bed really easily on Sunday night, we told her that when she woke up in the morning she could go outside and play on the new swingset. It worked great, but at 6 AM she came running in, ready to go outside!
This morning was Kyle's birthday party. The theme was Clifford! There are a couple little party favors that Karl's mom made for the gift bags. A little puppy dog bean bag, and a Clifford finger puppet.

Some of the babies enjoying the ball pit!

Here is the cake I made.
Kyle sharing the "goods" with his buddies!
I LOVE cake!
One of Kyra's friends came over (her baby sister came to the party for Kyle) to play with her. Kyra loved being outside all day today. Tonight she is pretty sunburned. I guess its time to invest in sunscreen stock!

Kyles present from Great Grandma Wagoner was a sand/water table. He loves it! The nice thing is that it comes with a huge umbrella shade, so during the summer that kids can still stay cool outside. Digging away!
All tuckered out! It was such a fun couple days!

100 Ways to Keep Little Kids Happy!

In a magazine I recently read they had an article entitled "100 Ways to Keep Little Kids Happy". I thought it might be a good idea to share some ideas, and get some ideas, since a majority of people who read my blog have little kiddos at home. So at the top, on the right hand side is a little blurb, where each day (hopefully) I will put the new idea I tried today, and then hopefully some of you other mama's out there can share your ideas as well! I'm way excited. Hope everyone has a good day.

Random Ramblings

I have an idea to make millions. Open a babysitting service next door to every grocery store, so mom's can drop their kids off, and go in and do the shopping, and come back and pick them up.
What inspired this idea, you may ask? Well, Karl has been working nights for 3 weeks now. I have realized that I can't really go to sleep before he gets home. I can lay down, but I don't really sleep. So we go to bed about 1 every night, and lately the kids haven't been sleeping that greatest, so even when we are sleeping, its not the best night sleep. Then either someone calls at 6 in the morning, or the kids wake up by 7, so I'm lacking a little in that department. So to make a long story short, I'm a little tired, and worn out.

Usually I would make Super Nanny proud, because I normally take a grocery list for Kyra to find things off of, with a little pen, when we go shopping. She helps me put things in the bags, and gets to pick out a couple of the things we buy. With Kyle I usually bring food. Well I just had to run and pick up a couple things, before company came, so I didn't bring any of the above listed items. We get there, and it is mobbed. The kids quickly become bored, and hungry. So I'm trying to hurry. I pick out a carton of vanilla ice cream, and put it next to Kyle in the cart. I then start to look for something else, and when I turn around, Kyle has NAWED A HOLE THROUGH THE CARTON OF ICE CREAM, AND IS NOW SUCKING THE ICE CREAM OUT AS FAST AS HE CAN! You should of heard that scream when I had to take the ice cream away. So we checking out, and Kyra asks for some candy. I try to distract her and say "We bought some ice cream to make a special dessert after we decorate eggs tonight, so no candy tonight. I put the candy back. She grabs it again and starts opening it. I take it away again, and she has a complete fit. I kneel down next to her, and very nicely and camly say "Kyra, you will have to go in time out when we get home, because you didn't listen to mommmy". I kid you not, Kyra starts yelling as loud as she can "I want to be like Jesus! I don't like timeout. I want to be nice like Jesus!" Okay..now I'm kind of happy that she kind of understands the concept, but how she chose to express it left something to be desired. So I finally get the groceries in the car, and the kids loaded, and Karl calls, and says that they are getting down with work early tonight, and he is on his way home! YEA! I think this blog is theaputic in some ways. After writing this long post, I feel like I might actually, at some point in the future, be able to laugh about this adventure.

I'll be here all week...

Kyra is our little comedian. She loves to tell jokes. So Grandma Adams sent her a joke book, which she loves to read, all the time. So here is a video of Kyra reading her book. I warn you, its a little long, but I thought Grandma and Grandpa would enjoy it.
