Pump it Out!

Its so hot here in Tucson, that you can't really let your kids play outside during the day. So you get creative. Today some friends and us went to "Pump it Up" (Kyra always says Pump it Out). Its a large indoor inflatable playground. Kyra had so much fun!

Frogs!

One of the interesting things about monsoon season here in Tucson is the number of little baby frogs. Some nights you can go outside and see twenty of them on the front porch. Well I was able to catch one. Kyra seemed to think it was pretty neat, and keeps running to the window and saying "Bye Bye froggy...go eat bugs."



In other adventures...Yesterday I was cutting something with a knife. Kyra asked if she could help. So I told her that only grown ups can use knifes. I clarified what "grown up" meant by saying "you have to be big". This seemed to satisfy her because she gets that Daddy is big and Kyle is small. This morning this is the resoning that Kyra came up with when she saw me using a knife again...

Kyra: Kyra's turn.
Mommy: Sorry, only grown ups use knifes.
Kyra: Only grown ups use knife. Grown ups big. Kyra big girl. Kyra turn use knife.

I have no response...I change the subject. She is getting so smart, so fast.

Karl is on a buisness trip for a couple days and then we leave for Disneyland in 1 week! We are really excited.

Family Fun

My sister recently came to visit from Wyoming. Her little boy, Calvin and our two had alot of fun together. It was really good to see them. Kyra I think was especially sad to see them go back home. She walks around the house asking "Where Calvin go?"

So big...

Kyle had a check up today. He is doing great, weighing in at 15 lbs 13 oz. and 25 1/2 inches tall. The puts him about 50% on both. She rolled him on to his belly and then looked at me and asked "Does he push up on his arms at all yet?". Before I answered she looked down and saw that he was on all fours, bouncing and trying to lunge forward. She said they usually don't do that until about 7 months! Kyra then got a lollipop from the doctor for being a good girl while baby brother was being examined. She picked one out, and then grabbed a second one and said "Baby brother's lollipop"...guess who ate both. Kyra's new phrase for the day "Not eating it, just smelling in mouth".

All I went to go do....

All I did was leave the room for 2 minutes to start a load of laundry....

I asked her why she put flour on Kyle..."To make him pretty"

I'm not sure if you can see what books are on the floor next to the footprints, but believe it or not they are actually child development/behavior books.

She might have gotten away with it, except she left her fingerprints on the dog.

Creativity!

This is the result of every fiber of creativity I possess being put to use. I got the idea from a friend for this little shelf. I think it turned out cute, and Kyra seems to like it.

We went up to the ward campout for about an hour or two last Saturday. It was fun to just relax for a little bit.

Our little Kyra is getting so big. Everyday she seems to add 50 words to her vocabulary, and is so much more curious (and onery). Today she was doing something naughty. She knew she was doing something naughty. I gave her a warning, that if she didn't stop, she would have to go into timeout. But I was feeding Kyle at the time and she knows that it will be a few minutes before I can do something about timeout. So she kept on doing the thing that was naughty. As I finished feeding Kyle, and started to get up, she immediately sat down and cocked her head to the side, and in the most innocent voice she could muster said "Mommy is sooooo pretty." For heavens sake!

Football...
